Important Changes Coming to BWA

We will be making changes to the membership to British Women Artists on 8th March 2010. This note is to give you some advanced information about these changes. Please read this carefully as in order to keep costs down we need your to help us keep individual queries to a minimum.

The web site British Women Artists has proved to be a huge success and is getting the participating artists the nationwide exposure that they seek. In order to maintain these benefits after the 8th March there will be there will be three types of membership:-

  • Standard Membership, for those who have registered but have not posted any art. Standard membership is intended for those who support the site and who wish to look at the artwork posted by our members. Standard membership is free.

  • Artist Membership for those who have posted their work on the site. Artist Membership is still free but will be limited to a maximum of 5 pieces of art after 8th March 2010. If you currently have more than 5 pieces on the site, and wish to post more work after the 8th March you will need to pay £2. If you wish to make all your work continually visible, then you should upgrade to Professional membership status.

  • Professional Members. Professional members will be charged £2 per month and can post an unlimited number of artwork and receive free entry into any art competitions held by the site, be placed in the 'Gallery Area' of the web site which will move artworks randomly to the first part of the search. British Women Artists with Professional status will receive automatic transfer to 'International Women Artists' web site which we are hoping to launch in 2010.

Welcome!

Dear Artists,

Welcome to a space where the rules of society can rest in peace for a while, and we can celebrate the power of image and femininity outside of conventions

Here women visual artists of any nationality who work in Britain are invited to publish and discuss their art work. Men that would wish to consider themselves feminine are also welcome.

Our aim is to create a platform for a dialogue powerful and empowering, we believe as one move of a butterfly wing can change the world so can an eyelash change the composition of atmosphere - universe.

We will celebrate this occasion annually by initiating a collective women artist's exhibition. The next exhibition that will represent artists who actively participate on the website will take place in London in 2009.

The contents of the site (but not external links) will be archived regularly. This is to ensure that "scholarly, cultural and scientific resources" will not be lost to future generations. If you wish to contribute to this website but to be excluded from the archived version this site is probably not for you.

We look forward to your contributions this is your web site its up to you to make it happen!
