Trying to be forgotten

The act of painting, the exploration, each new piece created is another step towards relief for the artist. Just as so many search for whatever relief may mean to them, searching and seeking for true happiness, for inner peace, a soul mate, money, fame whatever it may be the person believes will make their lives better.
This relief, or peace comes, here, through painting, playing out a scenario which lies hidden in memory, reeking of shame and regret.
This piece is 60x80cm Oil paint and varnish washes on canvas.
