"I'm a visual artist that creates installations, sculptures and drawings looking at emotional experience, female representation and childhood issues. My work celebrates colour and curves and works on different levels, from sardonic humour and gentle critique to benign objects of visual pleasure and exuberance."

Barbara graduated with an Masters degree in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art and was awarded a Henry Moore Fellowship, based for one year at Canterbury College of Art. She has received several Artists Grants from the Arts Council of England and was a recipient for the Year of the Artist Award and a "Judges Favourite" (Mary Allen) in the British Women Artist Annual 2015. She has shown across England and abroad, her work has been presented in solo and curated group exhibitions in U.K, U.S, Europe and Asia.

The last few years she has been dividing her time between Bristol and projects/shows in Bangalore, and is currently co-organising-participating in an ongoing project "Melting Pot" - a 4 woman show connecting artists & galleries from India to Europe. Venues so far:

Recent shows/projects include - "Morphology of the Archive", Inaugural exhibition, Museum of Goa, India, "Bells from the deep", Hundred Years Gallery, London, "Second Triennial Drawing Exhibition" at Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre, "Holding up half the sky" (solo show), Five Forty Five gallery, Bangalore, "Virion", Biennial touring exhibition of public screenings of artwork, including Queensland University and Perth Cultural Centre, Australia, "Drawing across"; an internet drawing exchange with women from the criminal justice system (Arts Council England) and "Adam's Rib, Eve's Air in her hair", SOHO20, New York, curated by Melina Messina, Brooklyn Museum.
