| I have been working and surviving as a freelance Muralist and on and off part time art lecturer for the last 7 years. I run my own little business 'Painted Interiors by Design' specialising in murals, fine art projects and interior decoration. I have a Fine Art Degree from Coventry University and an Art History Masters from the University of Warwick. While I spend most of my time committed to the ideas and whims of the paying client my own work trickles on in the background. Most of my own work has been collage based up to now but I am at present stepping into the realms of painting on canvas. This year the fine art projects area of my business has taken off and I have received interesting commissions from constructing works for a touring exhibition on the holocaust in lithuania; recreating stage props for an exhibition on a locally renowned magician (the Amazing Chang Exhibition Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum) and creating a life sized painting of Aung Sang Suu Kyi for Amnesty International. All wierd and wonderful commissions welcome!! My own work deals with exploring ideas of identity by looking at the differences between surface and depth. |
