I am is a textile artist whose main focus is on producing vibrant applique images of women and children. An Indian of Malaysian origin, came to England originally to qualify as a nurse, I recently graduated with first class honours from the University of Hertfordshire. Since graduating, I have continued to work, producing, exhibiting and selling applique images made from recycled materials reflecting the lives of the poor. Though concerned with poverty, my work is vibrant and colourful, as well as strikingly powerful and original, reflecting a strong sense of optimism as well as an innate realism. |
