Artist statement
Art is my way of understanding and experiencing the universe that is both inside me and around me by dissecting it, internalising it then piecing the fragments together into my work.
Inspiration is drawn from a wide range of sources using imagery from the natural world, alongside those borrowed from myths, fairytales, science fiction and philosophy.
The figures in my paintings are not separate from the landscape they inhabit but are an intimate part of it, symbolising a symbiotic relationship of mutual benefit and co-operation.
