Wild Horses, 2010 by Marcela Trsova :: You need to be a member to contact artists →Join :: Portfolio Performance
Lake District, Cubmria, UK. The work Wild Horses explores emotional transitions and the human journeys of self. The initial inspiration for this piece came from a phrase from the novel by Paolo Coelho, Brida: ?Emotions are like wild horses, sometimes in order to tame them, you just have to let them run until they grow tired?. In the performance I physically performed the journey of emotional transitions: the process of moving on and coming to terms with one?s emotions. The performance involves a personal ritual of climbing up a mountain dressed in 3 sheets of silk (red, blue and white) each representing different emotional stage. They unwrap and gallop as the journey progresses, peaking at the top of the mountain, gradually calming down on the descent towards the edge of the still waters of the lake. ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
